Tibet – Das verbotene Land

The landscape

When I prepared the travel route through Tibet I knew one thing: We will go up to a very high altitude! We were more than 80% of our time in Tibet above 4.000m. I expected the landscape to be boring after a while but I was wrong! Every day the landscape changed. We saw snow covered peaks which were changing their image with every curve we took. We saw mountain lakes which were shining in the most incredible colors and which where mirroring the mountains around. We saw mountain ranges which were so rugged that we thought that there was and endless clay village at the end of the horizon. We saw valleys and gorges which were so deep that we couldn’t see the river at the bottom. We passed sand dunes which we expected to be in North Africa. We drove through mountains which had the most different colors and which were taking us in a different world. I was really every day in Tibet impressed of the miracles of this world. The journey through Tibet was like a dream.

    Hi Matthias,
