On my way towards north I entered in the dusk the Chinnar Wildlife Sanctuary to increase the chance to spot wild elephants. The animals stay during the hot day in the shadow and come out in the dawn or in the dusk to look for food. The luck should be again on my side. I just entered the elephant area when I eventually spotted one only a few meters beside the road eating plants. I was excited! But because of the late safari I couldn’t find a suitable camp besides the road and had to take a hotel. And this one was again one of the worse ones. The room was the meeting point of the local mosquitoes and there was absolutely no hook to tie my mosquito net in the room. I build a pile of chairs to hang the net on them but the construction was very unstable and there was always a gap which the mosquitoes instinctively found. After a while it was enough for me. I left the room and went straight into my car. Finally good sleep I thought. Stupid tourist thought probably the receptionist.

I made a stop in Mysore on my way to Hampi. Every Sunday they enlighten all the million small lights on the big famous Amba Vilas palace. And guess when I arrived! Yes – on a Sunday! It might seem a bit cheesy but it was also very beautiful to watch the scenery.
