Von Kirgistan nach Kashgar

The next change of my travel company was almost hand-in-hand. I brought my brother Stefan and his friends Dirk and Chef to the airport at 3 in the morning. Only 4 hours later Lydia was supposed to arrive so I changed my car to a camper and set the alarm. But while removing the flight mode from my phone the time changed as well and I totally overslept. When I realized that, Lydia was already looking for me at the airport. But luckily we’ve found each other after a while. Poor Lydia. She was waiting for almost one hour without knowing where to go.

Lydia’s first travel day was quite tough. We drove 420 kilometer to the mountain lake Song Kul, which is on an altitude of 3000m. Between Osh and the lake were two high mountain passes and a very bad dirt road. At the end I really hurried to not arrive after dark. But when you are in a hurry things happen which you don’t need, like a flat tire. 32 km before we reached the target I had to change the tire.  So we climbed the serpentines to the lake in the dark and arrived when it was snowing. Nice. We were so tired from the day that we just parked the car in front of a yurt of a nomad family and we invited us for diner in the yurt (in exchange of some headache pills for the sick son).

We spent the night in the car and it was really cold and stormy. At the morning the temperature was one degree below zero. The nomads started to deconstruct their yurt because winter was obviously coming. We could see that at the mountains which were now snow covered. The panorama was picturesque.
